The Big Event is a one day service project which provides the students of Texas A&M University at Galveston an opportunity to give back to the surrounding community will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008.
The program originated by students in College Station in 1982 began with six students. It has become the largest, one-day, student run, service project in the nation. The Big Event has expanded to include schools across the nation.
“The Big Event is a great way for our students to interact with our community. We appreciate being welcomed to Galveston and how to show our appreciation through the projects of The Big Event,” said Collin Crawford, chair of the Big Event Committee.
On Saturday, March 29, 2008, the student volunteers will gather at the Mary Moody Northen Student Center on the A&M Galveston campus before departing for the various projects.
